Wheatley Golf Club

The Golf Course

Wheatley Golf Club was formed in May 1914. The club was originally within the grounds of the old Wheatley Hall, owned by Sir William Cook. The club later relocated to its current site of Armthorpe Road in 1934, following the sale of Wheatley Hall and the industrialisation of the site.
Being on one of Doncaster’s largest hills and sand based, the course boasts fantastic drainage, maintaining its playability all year round. Characterised with pine and silver birch lined fairways, Wheatley Golf Club offers a challenging but fair test of golf for all abilities.
A traditional 18 hole golf course designed by George Duncan which has two loops of 9 holes starting from and returning to the clubhouse. A par 71 course measuring 6405 yards off the white tees, 6240 off the yellow tees and 5818 yards off the red tees. The course has a mixture of five par threes, nine par fours and four par fives, with the par 4, stroke index one, tenth hole often regarded as one of the toughest holes in the area. All greens are protected by traditional sand bunkers and the 18th hole has a feature water hazard requiring concentration to be kept until the very end of your round.
