Greens Team Spotlight: 11th Green Bunker Reconstruction
Over the past few weeks, our greens staff have been hard at work delivering a major upgrade to the bunkers surrounding the 11th green — and the results speak for themselves.
The bunkers positioned left, right, and short centre of the green have all undergone a full reconstruction, with a strong focus on playability, consistency, and long-term performance. This was not a cosmetic refresh, but a complete rebuild carried out entirely in-house by our dedicated greens team.
As part of the project, modern drainage crates have been installed to significantly improve water movement and reduce washouts, ensuring the bunkers perform better year-round and recover faster after heavy rainfall. Each bunker has been reshaped to improve definition and strategic challenge, with careful attention paid to depth, face angles, and visibility from the fairway.
Once the new profiles were established, the bunkers were fully lined and filled with fresh sand to provide a consistent strike and finish. The surrounding turf has also been expertly reinstated, blending seamlessly into the green surrounds and completing the transformation.
