Head Greenkeeper
Wheatley Golf Club are currently seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Head Green Keeper. The salary for this position is negotiable, working an average 40 hours per week.
Job Description:
To ensure the maintenance and upkeep of an established parkland design course to a high standard in line with operational budgets through strong turf and course management programmes, effective leadership and management of the green keeping team and the maintenance and upkeep of machinery and equipment.
To manage the golf course and five green keeping staff ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of the golf course meet the expectations of members and guests to the club in accordance with the Club’s Golf Course Maintenance and future development programmes.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience as Course Manager/Head Greenkeeper or Deputy
- Experience of managing, training and motivating the existing green keeping staff
- Experience of managing a greens annual financial operating budget
- Experience in all aspects of golf course development and planning
- Up to date knowledge of golf course maintenance and all aspects of ecology and sustainability
- Course Manager/Head Greenkeeper or Deputy of a high profile course
Qualifications/Knowledge:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Sportsturf Maintenance - ESSENTIAL
- PA1, PA2 and PA6 spraying certification – ESSENTIAL
- Knowledge/use of Hunter Irrigation system or similar - ESSENTIAL
- Chain Saw Certification - DESIRABLE
