Introducing Our New Assistant Professional & Junior Academy Coach
Hello Wheatley members, juniors, and families,
We’re delighted to introduce Chris Long, who has joined Wheatley Golf Club as our new Assistant Professional. Chris is currently completing his final year with the PGA and brings a modern, evidence-based approach to coaching, with a strong focus on short-game development and junior progression.
Chris will be leading our Junior Academy, helping players of all ages learn, improve, and enjoy the game in a fun and supportive environment. Please feel free to stop by the Pro Shop and say hello — he’s excited to meet everyone and contribute to the Wheatley team.
Wheatley Golf Club – Coaching Facilities
We’re proud to offer one of the strongest coaching set-ups in the area, giving players of all ages everything they need to learn, develop, and enjoy the game:

5-Bay Long Game Practice Area (with covered bays)
Perfect for year-round practice and structured coaching sessions.

Short Game Area – 60 Yards
Designed for pitching, chipping, bunker play, and real-course scenario practice.

Large Putting Green
A dedicated space for putting technique, speed control, and performance training.

9-Hole Short Course
Ideal for juniors and developing players to learn course management and scoring skills.

Indoor Swing Studio
Equipped with simulator golf, performance analysis, and Awesome Golf powered by Garmin.
These facilities support our coaching programme throughout all seasons and give juniors a complete environment for progressing their game.
Junior Academy – Classes & Coaching

Junior Classes restart: Friday 6th December
Price: £10 per person
Maximum: 6 juniors per class - Booking required
More sessions added based on demand.
